Passionate 2D Digital Artist and Game Design student, who is dreaming about being a Lead Artist for an AAA project one day.
Mist Weavers was my first game project. Just starting the studies at Tiltan College, I joined the team as 2D generalist and after 2-3 months became a Lead Artist of the project, creating a new unique dark cartoonish look of the game, enhancing it's atmosphere.
This project helped me to gain experience in creating assets for the game (characters, BG, props, UI), frame-by-frame animations, and their implementation to Unity; the most important thing - a great experience of working in a team.
We've reached great results and were chosen for 3 months internship under the CloverBite studio. After finishing the internship I decided to leave my role to pursue other opportunities in the field, gaining a lot of experience on my first project in the industry.
This project was made during the production course in Tiltan College. Our goal was to make a 3D game in 10 weeks. As a Lead Artist of the project I've decided to pick a low-poly style for our game, in order to cut the scope.
I was responsible for visual development and concept-sketches, UI assets, level-design visuals, and mainly - creating a coherent look of the game.
This game became my first game jam experience. The theme of GGJ was "Mask" so my idea was to make a game based on circus masks. In this project I was both a Lead Artist, focused on visual development and providing 2D assets, and gameplay conceptualist.
The most important improvement for me was an experience of cut-out based animations I've gained during these days - in order to save time on animating characters frame by frame and finish the game in time.
